Why do some people have success in life and some fail? Is it written in the stars that you are doomed to fail or is it maybe that successful people avoid certain bad habits in their life?
That is up for debate of course what the secret ingredient is for success but I do now some habits that are going to increase the risk of failure in almost any areas of life. I want to mention some of them an help you become aware of them as it’s something I have experienced in my life. So what are these bad habits that are the reason so many people fail online?
Demanding Instant Gratification
The first thing I want to talk about and I see is a huge factor (problem) in so many people’s life’s is instant gratification. Now this may sound like I’m some old nagging geezer trying to tell the younger generation how to life their life’s – but it’s not. It’s quite obvious that younger people today are more used to a fast paced society, instant food, instant delivery of information, instant gratification from our parents (maybe the want a better life for their children than they had), instagram and so on. I’m not going so far to say that this apply’s to all people but I do think many of us have been or are being raised thinking that things come fast and easy. While the parents are waiting for likes on Facebook the children are being kept quiet watching YouTube videos with the swipe of the finger. Now the thing with success in life whether be it money, school, pursuing a career or simply just a relationship is that it requires in most cases a considerable amount of input of work to get results. Those results may not be visible until much later on. Everything that is worth something in life achieving takes work. If not then everyone would be successful. That’s were we come to the next habit.
Not having belief
To achieve something in life that you really want then investment of time and work is usually needed. While doing that it is very important to believe in what you are doing and that it will one day pay off. This is especially true when you want to become and entrepreneur and running your own business. It can be hard to put in a lot of work on something that doesn’t guarantee a certain outcome. Being an entrepreneur means going it alone. Nobody is there for you except yourself and if you don’t really believe in what you are dong then it’s doomed to fail. Compare it to climbing Everest. Nobody is going to take the steps for you. There are no people on the sidelines cheering for you. You can see the top once in a while when the weather is good but you are bound to hit some storms maybe. But you know it’s there. And you know that if you just keep on taking the steps then finally you will reach the top. You have to become your biggest supporter in life. There are probably a handful of people who would want to see you fail. Probably because they were too afraid to go the path you are going. Trust in yourself even though other people don’t. Nobody else then YOU know’s what really is best for you. I have had people in my life that wanted the best for me – but it wasn’t actually what I really needed. What other people think is best for you isn’t necessarily what IS best for you. Say to yourself what you want and don’t want. If you feel like you are being surrounded by negative people then limit your time with them. Or stop spending time with them. You don’t need people dragging you down. Surround yourself with like-minded people that are positive and offer you constructive criticism. Believe that you can do new thing. Believe that you can learn new things. That you can become a “technical person”. A “public speaker”. A “popular person”. Whatever you want. Never let anyone define you as a person. No matter what happened in the past. That is the past. People change. People are allowed to change. You are not the same person as 5 years ago. You have learned a lot from then. Believe that every day you are becoming better at everything in life. Even though it’s happening very slowly. Just know that it’s happening. When you decide to. Become the person you have always wanted to be.
I remember watching “The Secret” many years ago. You may have heard of it – if not – then I highly recommend it. I remember watching it and thinking how stupid I thought it was. Remember – this was some 8-9 years ago – I was not the same person then. For me some of the things made no sense like “Your thoughts become things!” ― Rhonda Byrne, The Secret. I guess I wasn’t open for the message the Secret was delivering and for many years I didn’t understand. How can I get anything in life if I just think it? I just have to send my thoughts to the universe and the universe will answer me back? I took my many years to finally understand it. First of all you have to know what you want in life. Be it a car, a house, million dollars or whatever your mind desires. Then you have to decide if you are going to go after it. If you do then you have to make a plan and put it into action. Then you constantly have to say to yourself and the universe that you are not going to have no for an answer and that you WILL achieve your goal. Think about it. If you smile to a person – do you think that the person will smile back? Probably. If you treat people good then there is a good chance that they will treat you likewise back. If you wake up one day and say to yourself that it’s going to be a great day, don’t you think there is a good chance of that happening? Same if you wake up grumpy and negative telling yourself that your say is going to suck. Then it probably will. Negative things seem to always happen mostly to negative people. I know people that are always complaining about life not treating them good enough and they just got unlucky or “didn’t get a break”. They have decided to be victims of their circumstances, That their actions and thoughts didn’t contribute to their situation. It was somebody else’s fault. Then they complain instead of doing something about it. They try to make money online and when they see that it isn’t getting them instant results they brush it off as “not working” or a “scam”. Because they don’t have the discipline to keep going when it’s needed the most. Because if they meet an obstacle in their path they instantly judge it as someone “trying to put a stone in their path”. Because they have a negative mindset. They are not in tune with the universe or their surroundings. It’s easier for them to put the blame on someone else rather than be honest with themselves. They don’t recognize that when they encounter a hurdle, that’s when they really need to keep going. The night is always darkest right before dawn, right? That is when their negative mindset kicks in and says “This is too difficult, I can’t do this”. They don’t believe in themselves.
I hope I shed some light on these 3 bad habits I think that can be very damaging to anybodies success in life. Try to avoid them, be aware of them and you will greatly reduce the risk of failure in almost anything. Be consistent and believe in yourself no matter how dark the path is or how hopeless the situation is. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
